The fruit of durian, this is golden yellow, some is pale yellow, some is white. The taste of durian varies according to the type of durian. Some is sweet, some is bitter sweet, some creamy, some with a taste of wine. It's really amazing! I personally love durian, please bear in mind that durian is very heaty, do drink a lot of water after you have durian, best is with salt water!
The thorny fruit that gives out a strong smell, some say the smell is nice some say it stinks.
The best durian breed - Musang King
The expert trying to open the durian, without using glove!
Opening another one for us to eat.
We had this durian in Jenjarum, one of my business partner took us there. Their pricing is quite cheap compared to those in the city.
Do you like durian?

Dragon Boat Festival falls on 5th day and 5th month of the lunar year. The story of how it came about can read here.
Here is how the rice dumpling look like. The dumpling on the left is the normal dumpling whereas the one right is the Nyonya dumpling.
This is how it looks like skin off
The Nyonya dumpling's rice has some blue coloured rice, the colour comes from the flower of morning glory.
Inside of a Nyonya Dumpling, can't tell exactly what is inside. Some pork, mushroom, dried shrimp with a touch of sweetness
This is the normal type of dumpling, with pork, chestnut, salted egg yoke, mushroom. Some dumpling come with beans too and some is sweet ones with red bean paste filling.
It used to be that we only get to eat the rice dumpling only once a year but nowadays it's available all year long. :)

Ching Ming is a special day for the Chinese where we visit the grave of our ancestors. This is an annual event where all the family members gathers to go to the grave. For my case, its my grandparents. Sadly this year, my eldest uncle's family didn't join us as they went the week before cause my cousins had to work the Sunday we went.
We normally get up very early to the grave so that we can finish before the weather is unbearable. When we arrived, the hill is already filled with people and smoke! Cleaning and filling up the pain for the wording is what we normally do, where the adults will start putting up the food offering and other stuff.
The coloured papers were spread on top of the grave, I don't really know why.
Here comes the burn offering, 2 boxes, 1 for my grandpa and 1 for my grandma.
Small yellow flower. We hire care taker to take care of the grave area. This is planted by them.

As a Christian, I don't perform any of the rituals involved during Ching Ming. I still go for this as I take it as a family gathering, and also helping out in cleaning and whichever help needed.

It's been raining everyday for the past week, and mind you the rain is heavy! It will rain in the morning, evening and late night. I don't quite appreciate rain in the evening as it cause massive traffic jam everyone especially when its time to go home!
Last Friday when I got home, as usual I will turn on the internet connections and my notebook to play my favourite FB games. I waited for a while, eh.. there is no internet connection, the ADSL light has got no light on! So, I went to check the phone line, no dial tone, our house phone line is dead. I think it must have been the lighting that causes the phone line to be out. I told myself, no worries, I will call TM to report a fault but then, what is the number to call from my mobile phone? No idea... I called my friend to check on the number for me via the internet and she text me back slightly after that. I lodge my first report on 31 October 2009, they told me the problem will get fixed within 24 hours which I think it's quite fair.
I check the phone again on Sunday, the line is still dead. I called TM again to find out what is going on, they told me, the case is still open and the technician will call for updates. I trusted them that the technician will give me a call for updates. On Monday, I checked the line again, still dead! So, I made my third call to TM, they tell me the same old story again. I explained to them that no one had called me since Saturday and I expect an explanation from them. All they can tell me is, your case is still open and the technician will call you with updates. I nearly lost my temper on them! I figured I will be gracious and give them another chance, and I received a call from them in the evening telling me that the problem has been resolve and if my line is working properly or not. I told them no,then they suggested for me to bring my modem to TM point and have the people there take a look. I told them, I don't think the modem is faulty but the telephone line because the line is still dead. Anyway, I called to complain again this morning, they told me the same story again! Knowing there is not much of a difference I can make, I told myself that, I will just call them everyday until this issue is solved!
I just called home, and my mom picked up the phone! Meaning, the line is fixed finally, then I told my sis to switch on the modem to see if its working and it is working! Phew.. finally! From 24 hours to 96 hours, how efficient is TM? Need me to say more...

There are so many people around me that blogs. It seems like the trend for today's generation, there are about more than 50% of people around me that has a blog, whether active or not.
Why do I blog? I used to blog about 2 years ago, but since then I have not written anything. A friend of mine just told me yesterday that she started a food blog, encouraged by her sister since she always takes photos of food & places she goes to. So, I figured maybe I should start one myself since I love food, likes travel and love cooking! This will also serves as a diary for me, to track down the stuff that I did, food that I have eaten and many more..
With this I begin my blogging journey again...
